UN Environment is calling on governments, businesses, civil society organizations and any other interested groups or institutions to join the fight to beat pollution

Our Beat Pollution campaign has already registered more than 430,000 individual commitments to clean up the planet. Now that we are almost at the 50-days-to-go mark until the UN Environment Assembly, we need your help to build on this momentum and broaden it to our partners around the world.

I challenge each of you to reach out to three governments, businesses, civil society groups, or other organizations you work with and ask them to make a commitment to beat pollution.
Here are a few examples of the types of commitments we would love to see:

• A company that pledges to improve its energy efficiency or replace a harmful product with a better one
• A civil society group that commits to take up pollution as a campaign issue or organize a series of beach clean-ups
• A government that commits to embrace sustainable procurement or phase out single-use plastic bags

Download the FAQ that you can share with partners more information on the commitments.

Please reach out to your contacts, direct them to the Beat Pollution page on the UN Environment Assembly website, and urge them to make a commitment. Then share those commitments with the Communication Division and myself, so that we can congratulate our partners and shine a spotlight on their actions.

If we each take just a few minutes to reach out to our partners, together we can generate a tidal wave of action to clean up the planet
